Fireside

This piece was commissioned by Peggy Gerulski and is hung in her home in Gainesville, GA. Her husband recently completed a floor to ceiling black tile wall with an insert sleek fireplace. Peggy had the piece hung on the dramatic black tile wall just above the fireplace. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful location for this piece. It was also shown in Atlanta, GA area at a prestigious quilt show. At the time of the showing the back panels of the quilted Textile had not been reinforced and all the materials used were in full display on the back of the piece. One of the docents commented that I must have begun my quilting adventure in the upholstery and drapery section of a fabric store because I had used a multitude of fibers with varying degrees of texture and weight. After that, I neatly sealed and supported the piece and it's secret is now safe within the inside of a neat quilt lining.
